The writer of The Epistle to the Hebrews tells us that down through the centuries God has spoken to humankind in ‘diverse manners’1. The epistle goes on to suggest that the most direct and complete revelation of God was Jesus Christ.

Through faith in Jesus Christ, we can enter into a living and dynamic relationship with God. God also continues to use various ways and means to reveal truth to us.

Taking the opening verses of Hebrews as the inspiration for a name, the Diverse Manners Arts Group was formed, with the aim of exhibiting the work of local Christian artists and bringing the work to as wide an audience as possible.

This exhibition celebrates the tenth anniversary of the first Diverse Manners art show, which took place in 1998. Following this first show, at Gaer Christian Centre, the group was formally established in 1989.

Over the past decade, the group has supported over 30 artists, exhibiting diverse selections of visual art forms including painting, drawing, embroidery, sculpture, photography, animation and installation. Diverse Manners exhibitions have been staged in a variety of venues including art galleries, places of worship and festivals, enabling the work to be accessed by a wide audience.

Diverse Manners is a non profit making organisation, funded by members subscriptions and gifts. The members of the group are committed to supporting Christians involved in social action. 25% of sales from this show will be donated to Tearfund2, a Christian relief and development agency working with a global network of local churches to help eradicate poverty.
